TRANSPORTATION
If you are traveling internationally, the most convenient way to get to the conference is to fly directly to Chicago O’Hare. You will then need to make your way downstate to Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, about 2 hours south of Chicago. The program will be held at the I Hotel in Champaign, Illinois.
From Chicago to Champaign there are three very convenient means of transportation:
-
Fly from O’Hare Airport (ORD) to Willard Airport University of Illinois (CMI): There are many flights from ORD to CMI, beginning at 8:30 am and ending at 8:30 pm, lasting approximately one hour. While this is the fastest route, you may have less time to spend sightseeing in Chicago.
-
Take a shuttle from O’Hare (Terminal 5) to Champaign Illinois Terminal. This trip takes two and a half hours and has several pickups from 7:00 am to 10:30 pm. You can purchase passes online with Peoria Charter Coach.
-
Train from Union Station (downtown Chicago) to Champaign Illinois Terminal. There are three daily departures if you are traveling by train: 8:15 am, 4:00 pm, and 8:00 pm. This option will take roughly two hours. You can buy tickets online from Amtrak.
Once you arrive in Champaign-Urbana, taxis are available to take you to the I Hotel.
